Adelaide Motherhood Photographer || Olivia & Odelia

Olivia & Odelia

One of the most special parts of being a photographer is capturing those fleeting, precious moments of motherhood — the ones that pass before you even realise they’re gone.

Motherhood sessions have truly become some of my favourites. Time moves so quickly… one minute you’re holding a newborn, and before you know it, they’re off to high school.

Photographing Olivia and little 12 week old Odelia was one of my highlights of the year. I designed this studio set in my Hawthorndene home studio with that deep mother-child connection in mind — soft, warm, and intimate.

Those first few months disappear in the blink of an eye. A motherhood session is a beautiful way to pause time just for a moment — and hold onto it forever.

Adelaide Family Photography || The Garretts

    The Garretts

I first met the Garretts when Ruby was pregnant with her second bub. We actually shot her maternity session at the exact same spot as this family session — it felt a little bit like coming full circle.

It was such a joy to photograph their maternity session, and just as much of a joy to capture this beautiful chapter now — with their newest little lady, Miss Sabrina.

To say her siblings are smitten is a serious understatement. I may or may not have joked about taking Sabrina home with me (she’s that cute), and I may or may not have had my life threatened by her big sister — who, by the way, looks exactly like Sabrina!

Family sessions with lots of kids are my kind of chaos — a happy, love-filled whirlwind. It’s a far cry from my own quiet childhood with just me and my mum, and maybe that’s why I adore these loud, lively moments even more.

    Welcome to the world Sabrina!

Adelaide Newborn Baby Photographer || Theodore

        Theodore

It was so lovely having Theodore and his lovely family in the studio for their first official studio photos. Theodore had a wrapped mini session with sibling photos. Theodores big brother and sister couldn’t have been more loving and proud of their new arrival. Theodore looks adorable in all the photos but I think the bucket shot with Teddy in the bear hat might be my favourite!

How did you announce your pregnancy?

Had my older children hold a custom plaque and took photos.

How did you find out the baby’s gender, before the birth or was it a surprise?

Found out at 15 weeks pregnant.

How did you pick out your baby’s name? Is there a special meaning behind the name?

I loved the name Teddy but wanted a more formal name for documents.

What hospital/birthing centre did you use? What was was your experience like?

Hospital birth, induction, natural labour and no pain relief. Wonderful experience.

What is the one thing you will never forget about the birth of your baby?

When they said his shoulder is stuck. And then see all his hair once he was born.

Do you have any favourite baby shops or baby products?

Take advice and options very lightly and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself, partner and baby.

Do you have any hints or tips for new mums and dads?

Plan on ordering in and be kind to yourself and each other.

What was the most memorable part of your newborn session?

Watching my three beautiful children together and enjoying themselves. I was just so proud of them.

What are some of your favourite photos from the session?

I love the the teddy bear hat for my little teddy. And the photo of All three of my children.

Why did you decide to have newborn photos taken?

The have the memories to share with family and to look back on.

Why did you choose Megan Macdonald Photography to capture your memories?

We looked around for the photography style and a good price. And upon communication and then when we arrived, Megan was so lovely and welcoming. my children warmed to her straight away, she was friendly, cheerful and made is very welcome and relaxed.

Did you enjoy your experience and would you recommend Megan Macdonald Photography in the future?

We would 100 percent recommend Megan. We cannot wait to get more photos done in the future.

Adelaide Newborn Photography || Welcome Iris

Welcome to the family Baby Iris!

It’s not every day I get to photograph a new addition to the family but I’m pleased to announce my new baby niece Iris! Iris belongs to my hubbies sister Olivia. It’s hard to believe that Olivia was the same size as Iris when I first meet her. These 2 are making me feel very old! Being an Adelaide newborn photographer certainly comes in very handy when new babies to the family arrive and it’s so lovely to create beautiful memories for my loved ones.

copy Adelaide Newborn Photography || Welcome flynn

Welcome to the family Baby Flynn!

It was so lovely to finally meet my first ever nephew Baby Flynn! Baby Flynn had a bumpy start to life and gave everyone in the family a scare but he could not be any more perfect! I loved capturing these precious moments for my brother in law Jake and his partner Samara. Flynn was so good for his Aunty Meg even though he was a little older than the 2 weeks. Flynn has an amazing crop of hair and is just divine!
